Any of you ever had the chance to look at the virtual table tops like Fantasy Grounds or Roll20? There's definitely a learning curve, but it's pretty damn convenient to not have to leave the house. I've been participating in a Pathfinder game on Fantasy Grounds for a few months now. If it wasn't for my 4th Ed game, I'd consider trying to run something through one of these.

I played a savage worlds game over Maptool with Skype for GM voice and it worked very well, despite Maptool's limitations. I messed about with Fantasy Grounds, but it was fairly expensive if you wanted to run a game since the gm client was costly and every player needed the client software. If i do another Savage Worlds game I'd probably use it though since SW is extremely well supported by it. So too is Pathfinder, though that is less my cup of tea (I did briefly consider running a Pathfinder Kingmaker Campaign using it though). . I've heard good things abut Roll20, and it pairs very well with Google hangouts.
I've been wanting to run a vtt game for a while now, but lack of interest, the leaning curve, and (in the case of some programs) cost to use the software kept me from doing so. Now that I have decent employment, the last issue is not such a limitation.

Well, I've been tossing around the idea of an Ultimate license for FG, since others can log in and play for free, but I'm not sure I have a committed group for it. It's damn expensive up front ($149), but over the course of years of use, it pays for itself, since only one person needs to get the Ultimate License.

I thought about it myself, but I would need to play in fantasy grounds using more than one system to be certain it would meet my needs. And unfortunately the player client cost is still a bit steep just to try it out.
